The Community Action Framework about the community strategy on equality between men and women aims to promote equality between women and men, particulary, by assistance and support to community strategy framework. It covers all Community policy and action directed to achieve that equality, including the integration of sex equality policies and the especific actions addressed to women. Its aims are:

• Promoting and diseminating the values on which equality between women and men has its basis.

• Improving the understanding of the questions related with equality between men and women, including direct and indirect discrimination based on sex, as well as multiple discrimination against women, examining the effectiveness of policies and practices by means of its previous analysis, the monitoring of its aplication and the evaluation of its impact.

• Strengthening the capacity of ocial agents to promote effectively the equality between women and men, particulary, promoting the information ang goog practices exchange and the establishment of community networks.

The activity fields, with a view to achieve the objectives of the project, will be developed within the framework of the following transnational actions:

• Awareness, mainly enhancing the Community dimension of the equality between women and men promotion and advertising the program results, particulary by means of publications, campaings and several events;

• Analysis of factors and policies related to equality between women and men, including statistical recopilations, studies, sex impact evaluation, employment of tools and methods, development of indicators and reference criteria and real disemination of results; it will be also included the monitoring of the Community law execution and aplication in the field of equality, by means of law evaluation and the practice, aiming to evaluate its impat and effectiveness;

• Transnational cooperation among implicated social agents, by means of promoting the establishment of colaboration networks and experiences exchange at Community level.

The main objective in 2006 will be “Promoting gender equality, especially in the local development”. This objective will allow to deal two different questions, but both complementary:

• Strengthen one balanced participation of men and women in the socio-economic aspects of local development.

• Encouraging the geder promotion from the implemented policies at local level.

This objective may be developed in the following fields: economic life, participation and represntation equality, social rights, civil life and gender roles and stereotypes, and other related.
