- CULTURE 2000. ITALY.
The theatre (cooperativa il teatro), a place of poli-semantic communication,
can create a large intenational atelier, with five partners specialized
in theatral research, and the participation of local univerisities and
the cultural departments of local authorities of each country. The project
is articulated in three steps:
1. realizing a large workshop, in different places, one for each country
and the participation/observation of people from the other countries;
the realization of performances (one for each partner) expressing the
narrative tradition of each one.
2. distribution of these five perfomances in the other countries, with
public seminars, conferences, publications describing the work realized
during the workshops.
3.creating an archive to preserve and diffuse the expressive traditions
(linguistic, of gestures and of theatre) of each tradition:
a)videos of fundamental thetral personalities of each country;
b)audiovisual documentation of the performances;
c)archives of unpublished works.

The Academy of Humanities and Economics in Lodz is interested in international
cooperation in the area of students exchange, curriculum development,
partnerships and international conferences. They started Polish Virtual
University, the first such e-learning institution in Poland. This can
also be a good place to exchange the intergenerational experiences.

Vents d'Houyet, an association of Namur (Bélgica) is looking
for partners to carry out a project to build, before 2012, a trans-european
children wind farm. The project is within Intelligent Energy Europe
program. The wind farm, of 100 megawatt, will be financed exclusively
by children shareholders, bank and public grants. Partners could be
local environmental agencies or organisations, young association, schools...The

BELGIUM.
For the Belgian television program ‘Man Bijt Hond’ (Man Bites
Dog) they are working on a new weekly section treating the European
Union. Man Bijt Hond is a daily 25´magazine with different items of
about 5´, broadcasted after the evening news on Belgian national television.
The program focuses on the human interest aspects of the news-headlines
of that same day. In the weekly ‘Europe’ section, Man Bijt Hond would
investigate what Europe means to ordinary people all over Europe. The
underlying thought is to show that not only in Brussels or Straatsburg
people can see or even feel the consequences of the European Union.
It would be very useful to them if you could give them as many ideas
as possible of things related to Europe behind which they could find
personal stories.The best stories are the onces that are specific and
recognisable for one region or country in particular.

the Bid VP/2006/009, Call for proposals VP/2006/009 for the support
to European networks involved in the fight against poverty and social
